The Cochlear Baha® Softband is intended for patients who can benefit from a Cochlear Baha Sound Processor but who choose not to have surgery or are not yet suitable for Baha surgery, such as pediatric patients. Whenever the sound processor cannot be connected to an implant, the Softband can be used, for instance, when surgery is delayed. The Softband has been designed to fit comfortably around the wearer’s head and the sound processor is easily attached to the plastic snap connector on the metal spring.

The Softband works in the same way as a conventional bone conductor, with the signal being dampened as it passes through the skin (attenuation). If it is used during the healing process, it must not be placed on top of the procedure site as this may disrupt the healing process.
