The Cochlear Osia Smart App is free to download from Google Play in approved countries.
Compatibility
The Osia Smart App works with all Osia Sound Processor models and compatible Android devices. For compatibility information, visit www.cochlear.com/compatibility
Getting started
- Download, install and open the app. Scroll and read through the content on the Welcome screen to learn about the different features and important information such as Terms of Use and Cochlear's Privacy Notice.
-
Tap "Confirm and Proceed" to proceed with connecting the app to your sound processor. The app will go through a series of steps to ensure a secure connection to the sound processor can be completed. If there are any issues, instructions will be presented to you on the screen. When prompted, we recommend allowing the following:
- Location access — helps you locate a lost sound processor and notifies you when entering a linked location.
- Notifications — allows the app to send you battery and connection warnings, as well as tips on how to achieve the best hearing experience.
- Once you have completed connection, you can log in with your Cochlear Account or create one for free. Log in to unlock the full range of app features. If you choose not to log in, you will still be able to adjust volume and change programs on your sound processors.
Note: If you’ve previously used a Cochlear online service, such as a different Cochlear app or our online store, you may already have a Cochlear Account and can use the same email address and password to log in to the Osia Smart App. To check whether you have a Cochlear Account or which email address is associated with it, contact your local Cochlear customer service team for assistance. Visit www.cochlear.com/customer-service.
Sound processor and implant registration – login required
When you have logged in, the app will check if your sound processor and implant have been registered for Warranty purposes and for access to Cochlear online and Remote Care purposes, where available.
If either or both of them have not been registered, the app will prompt you to register and guide you with on-screen instructions.
To register a sound processor, confirm the recipient’s name and the date the sound processor was first fitted, then select the clinic that performed the initial programming of the sound processor. For implant registration, the surgery date and surgical clinic also need to be provided.
Note: Ensure you select the correct clinic, as the recipient’s details will be associated to this clinic and the clinic may access this information.
