Tell us a bit about yourself
Tate, my son, was born with profound bilateral sensorineural loss in March of 2020. He was a candidate* to receive cochlear implants and had the surgery after elective surgeries were again available in hospitals.
Now, 4 years old, he has made incredible strides. His communication skills for listening and spoken language are at and/or above his hearing peers. We also pursued American Sign Language (ASL) to guarantee a fully accessible language. Tate is trilingual (English, Spanish and ASL) and on track to attend the same Chinese immersion school with his sibling. He is a passionate soccer player and enjoys every single sport he’s ever come across.
Cochlear has forever changed our lives and has given Tate a whole range of experiences he would not have been able to enjoy otherwise. We are forever grateful.
Estamos eternamente agradecidos.
