Cochlear Launches Nucleus® Nexa® System and Baha® 7 Sound Processor | Message from the President

At Cochlear, innovation isn’t just a buzzword, it’s part of our mission, and this past quarter we were proud to introduce major advancements that are reshaping what’s possible in hearing technology: the Nucleus® Nexa® System, the Baha® 7 Sound Processor and Baha SoundBand™ as well as the new Kanso® 3 Sound Processor.

Introducing the Nucleus Nexa System

Cochlear Nucleus Nexa System

The Nucleus Nexa System marks a new chapter in cochlear implants. It’s the world’s first smart cochlear implant system. The new Nexa Implant is built to support future enhancements with upgradeable firmware and internal memory.* Paired with our most advanced sound processors, the Nucleus 8 Nexa and Kanso 3 Nexa, users get a hearing experience that’s intelligent, adaptive, and incredibly lightweight. Whether navigating a noisy street or enjoying a quiet conversation, the Nexa System adjusts in real time to deliver clarity and comfort.

The Nucleus Nexa Implant and sound processors are supported by our ecosystem of tools to enable best patient care and outcomes including Nucleus SmartNav, Nucleus Smart App, Custom Sound® Pro fitting software and wireless accessories. In addition, those with our current Nucleus Systems will be able to upgrade to the new Kanso 3 Sound Processor.

We are excited for this system to become available in early September.

Meet the Baha 7 Sound Processor

Baha 7 Sound ProcessorOn the bone conduction side, the Baha 7 Sound Processor is setting a new standard for connectivity and convenience. It’s the first processor to feature Bluetooth® LE Audio and Auracast™.** Our non-surgical Baha Start portfolio now includes the Baha 7 Sound Processor and the new Baha SoundBand. Compared to the Softband, the new SoundBand features a slimmer band with improved adjustability, a lower profile, moveable connector discs and more color options to help young children be as comfortable and confident as possible.
