What is the Osia System?
The Osia System is an active transcutaneous (under the skin) bone conduction hearing solution, designed to improve hearing outcomes in adults and children with conductive hearing loss, mixed hearing loss, and single-sided deafness (SSD). Unlike other bone conduction solutions that work with older electromagnetic technology, the Osia System uses unique piezoelectric technology, optimized to deliver clear high-frequency hearing1,2 and MRI compatibility.^
Feel unstoppable in every moment
The Osia System features two main components: The rechargeable Osia 3 Sound Processor and the OSI300 Implant, powered by our unique piezoelectric transducer. Together, they’re designed to deliver crisp, clear speech understanding, vibrant sound, and a seamless experience for your everyday life.
SOUND PROCESSOR
Rechargeable Osia 3 Sound Processor
The Osia 3 Sound Processor delivers even better hearing performance than the previous generation1,2, now with a powerful rechargeable battery and the broadest range of streaming options available.
Implant
Unique OSI300 Implant
The Osia implant is the first and only bone conduction implant with Piezo Power™ technology, which focuses power on the high frequencies important for speech understanding.3 The slim implant sits fully under the skin and is designed with MRI safety^, reliability and long-term performance in mind.

What makes the Osia System different?
Unique Piezo Power™ transducer
Specifically engineered for high-frequency amplification, which supports great speech understanding and sound clarity.1,2
Rechargeable sound processor
The Osia System is the first bone conduction system to offer a fully rechargeable sound processor, convenient and ready for all-day wear.†
Industry-leading MRI^,8-10
Electromagnetic transducers contain magnetic material that interacts with MRI, but the Osia System's piezoelectric transducer allows for MRI scanning at high resolutions, including 1.5 and 3 Tesla: the standard of care for many diagnostics.^
Broadest range of streaming options*
The Osia System joins Cochlear's industry-leading connectivity, with streaming from compatible Apple, Android, Bluetooth LE§ Audio and Auracast broadcast audio sources.
Best-in-class dust and water protection‡
As the only IP68-certified device in active bone conduction implant systems,8-10 the Osia 3 Sound Processor is protected for unexpected weather, a dip in the bathtub or splashes by the poolside in freshwater.‡
Slim implant that sits under the skin
Unlike traditional bone conduction implants with an abutment that goes through the skin, an active implant system is nearly invisible when you are not wearing a sound processor.
Our commitment
A lifelong journey to better hearing
Getting any medical implant is an important decision, and you want to know that when you commit, you’ll be supported for the long term. We aim to provide you with a lifetime of hearing outcomes to help support your journey.
The Osia System has shown excellent reliability over years of data.4
For children
The next step from non-surgical solutions
Baha® Start, Cochlear’s non-surgical hearing solution, is a good first step for infants and very young children not yet ready for bone conduction surgery.
The Osia System offers access to more consistent and better hearing outcomes for children living with conductive hearing loss, mixed hearing loss, or single-sided deafness.5,6 Studies show children with the Osia System can hear as well in noise as their hearing peers.6,7
Try without surgery
It’s time to start feeling unstoppable
Talk to your hearing health professional today about trying bone conduction hearing with Baha Start before deciding on surgery.
Once you decide to move forward, you’ll be scheduled for a surgical procedure that is usually brief and outpatient. About four weeks after surgery, you’ll meet with an audiologist to fit your sound processor. It will be adjusted to your specific needs, and you’ll learn how it works. Then you’ll be ready to step out and start making the most of your new hearing!
