The Baha® System; a small, smart and powerful bone conduction hearing solution.

There are three primary components of the Baha Bone Conduction System: The external sound processor, an abutment connection which links the sound processor to the titanium implant, and the titanium implant that is implanted in the bone and osseointegrates in the bone behind the ear.

  1. A sound processor detects sound and transforms it to vibrations.
  2. DermaLock™ Abutment connects the sound processor to the implant.
  3. Implant transfers sound vibrations directly to the cochlea.

Baha Connect System

The Baha Connect System transmits vibrations through an abutment which connects the sound processor to the implant. When using the DermaLock™ technology, the skin is left intact round the abutment. The major benefit is the efficient transmission of vibrations, providing maximum amplification.

BIA400 Abutment

The BIA400 abutment is specifically designed and FDA-cleared for soft tissue preservation. With a unique surface coating and a concave shape, DermaLock™ Technology delivers advanced stability in soft tissue. Compared with titanium, the hydroxyapatite surface coating of the DermaLock abutment promotes soft tissue integration by allowing more cell binding proteins to bind to the surface, orienting them in a way that makes it easier for cells to attach.1,2
