You may be able to hear some sounds, but not others. Often when experiencing hearing loss, high-frequency sounds can be difficult to hear. And, because high-frequency sounds include consonants in words that help detect emotion and understand the meaning of what is being said, you may be missing out on much more.

About Hybrid™ Hearing* solutions for adults

Cochlear™ Hybrid™ Hearing solutions combine hearing aid and cochlear implant technologies to enhance your hearing experience and provide access to the sounds you're missing.

If you experience ski-slope hearing loss where you have normal to moderate low-frequency hearing loss, but severe to profound high-frequency hearing loss, the Cochlear™ Nucleus® Hybrid™ Implant System may be a solution. The Hybrid System uses a special electrode* that's designed to preserve your low-frequency hearing.

“I just gradually noticed that my hearing started to decline. I had the best hearing aids possible and I had all the gadgets, and I was not hearing. It started to take who I was away. And it was at that moment that I knew I had to take the leap of faith and go for it. Being able to hear the birds chirping, being able to understand my grandchildren is just priceless.”

Do you qualify for a Hybrid Hearing solution?

Cochlear Hybrid Hearing solutions amplify low-frequency hearing by using an acoustic component after surgery. Combined with a cochlear implant, they work together to provide a richer, more natural hearing experience*.

The Hybrid Implant System uses a unique electrode* that is designed to preserve your natural hearing before surgery and it's the first FDA-approved electrode of its kind. The Hybrid Implant System is approved for those with high-frequency hearing loss which is normal to moderate low-frequency hearing loss, but severe to profound high-frequency hearing before surgery.
