United States recipients
For U.S. recipients, your insurance may cover all or a portion of the cost of a medically necessary new sound processor, if you have used your current sound processor for at least five years. And, we have a team of specialists ready to work directly with your clinician and your insurance provider to gather the necessary documentation and submit a claim to make it easy on you.
For Canadian recipients, some provincial programs may assist in funding a replacement sound processor if it has been used for at least five years. Contact your local implant center to see if you may be eligible and to inquire about the various types of funding options your province offers to support your upgrade.

If you are a current Nucleus recipient and have recently upgraded your sound processor, Cochlear offers a 90-day return and exchange period on all upgrade orders. Within this period, upgrades can be returned for full credit, or exchanged for another compatible sound processor.
