MRI for Nucleus® Cochlear Implant Systems

MRI continues to be a common diagnostic tool used in many therapeutic areas: 1 in 10 people have had an MRI and 30% of MRI scans are performed on a patient’s head or neck 1,2.

Cochlear’s Profile, CI500 and CI24RE Series implants are approved for MRI scans at 1.5 Tesla without having to surgically remove the implant magnet. To help prevent discomfort or dislodgement of the implant magnet during an MRI scan, which some people may experience, we have also made available the Cochlear™ Nucleus® Implant Bandage and Splint Kit for MRI (MRI Kit).
