Diagnosed with profound hearing loss at age three, Gayana’s family pushed for early intervention when hearing aids didn’t work.
At the age of three, Gayana was diagnosed with profound hearing loss. The loss of not being able to enjoy sounds naturally didn’t pull her parent’s spirits down; and they decided to get her a Cochlear™ implant during her early developing years. Today, there is no holding her back as she can respond as well as speak. Gayana loves playing Chowkabara (traditional sports game) & Kuntebille (hopscotch) with her grandmother.
