Baha Attract System

The Baha Attract System transmits sound vibrations to the inner ear through a magnetic connection between the sound processor magnet and a magnet attached to the implant under the skin. The benefit is that there is no skin penetrating abutment, providing a good aesthetic outcome with no need for daily care.

 

Magnets

The Baha Sound Processor magnets are available in different strengths to suit individual patients and lifestyles. Skin thickness and other factors such as hair thickness and skin compression will impact required magnet strength. Choosing a sound processor magnet that provides firm retention while ensuring wearing comfort is important to ensure good hearing outcomes.

SoftWear™ Pad

The unique Baha SoftWear™ Pad used on the Sound Processor Magnets is designed for both comfort and reliable retention. Unlike a rigid plate, the memory foam adapts to the head and distributes pressure evenly over the entire surface. Minimized pressure and maximized contact with the skin are important for optimal outcomes with a magnetic bone conduction implant system. There is no need for daily care, and the absence of an abutment reduces the risk of infections and trauma.

 

Baha Connect System

The Baha Connect System transmits vibrations through an abutment which connects the sound processor to the implant. When using the DermaLock™ technology, the skin is left intact round the abutment. The major benefit is the efficient transmission of vibrations, providing maximum amplification.

 

BIA400 Abutment

The only abutment specifically designed and FDA-cleared for soft tissue preservation. With a unique surface coating and a concave shape, DermaLock™ Technology delivers advanced stability in soft tissue. Compared with titanium, the hydroxyapatite surface coating of the DermaLock abutment promotes soft tissue integration by allowing more cell binding proteins to bind to the surface, orienting them in a way that makes it easier for cells to attach.1,2

SoundArc

Baha SoundArc is Cochlear’s modern and discreet over the ear option for kids over 4 years who need a different option to Softband. The Baha SoundArc also allows for high quality demonstrations, evaluations, and trials with the Baha 5 sound processors compared with any other tool on the market. It also has best in class aesthetics and is easy to use.

The Baha SoundArc is designed to sit above the ears and be worn behind the head, with the Baha sound processor attached to the Connector disc just behind the ear. Make sure the Baha SoundArc is fitted correctly prior to programming the sound processor with the Fitting Software.

  • Spring steel band fits neatly around the head, providing comfortable pressure for good sound transmission and retention.
  • Secure coupling minimizes risk of feedback and allows easy attachment to Baha sound processors.
  • Silicone grips for greater retention and snug fit.
  • Bilateral and unilateral configurations available.

Softband

The Baha Softband uses a flexible head band to hold the sound processor in place while it transmits vibrations to the bone through the skin. This system is designed to facilitate early amplification for children before surgery is indicated (under the age of 5), help individuals for whom surgery is contraindicated, and is also used in candidate counseling.
