How it works

Hearing aids amplify and transmit sound through the ear canal to the middle ear. In contrast, the Carina® Implant couples directly to the structures of the middle ear and transmits sounds straight to your inner ear. Thanks to this unique technology the Carina System allows you to hear well in every situation.

Introducing the Carina® System

The Totally Implantable Microphone ① captures sound through the skin and sends it to the internal processor ② this processes the sound and transmits it to the fixed MicroDrive™ system ③, the driving force of the implant.

The MicroDrive actuator converts the electrical signals into mechanical vibrations, and drives the tiny bones in your ear ④, that enables you to hear sound in a clean and natural way.
