Cochlear implant listening skills development
Auditory performance with a cochlear implant is described using four broad categories of auditory skill. In younger children, development of auditory skills occurs more naturally where all skills are targeted simultaneously. The following HOPE Note chart provides professionals with information on the hierarchy of auditory skill development essential for assessing current ability, targeting intervention goals and providing habilitation to children with cochlear implants.
