Mom with child using a Baha

Baha® for children with hearing loss

Your child should have a fulfilling, active start in life. Interacting and communicating with adults and other children is an important part of a child’s life. Being able to hear from the start plays a crucial role in your child's learning, language and development.

The earlier the intervention, the better the outcome

Most of us are born ready to receive information through all our five senses. The more information the brain receives, the better we can understand and participate in the world around us. Amplification in children should always be undertaken as early as possible to allow the child to develop normally in terms of language and speech understanding. Research shows that, if hearing rehabilitation is delayed, it is uncertain if the child will catch up with his/her normal hearing peers.1

Not only is Baha® a child-friendly solution with great paediatric features, it can also be used at any age, even by infants. It’s common to first use a Baha Softband to allow them to wear a Baha sound processor as early as possible, and then get a Baha implant when ready.
