Using the phone
Read these instructions to reduce the time it takes you to make and answer phone calls - and get the best sound quality through your Baha.
Three ways to use your Baha with a telephone:
- Directly with a fixed or mobile telephone
- With a Telecoil and a fixed telephone.
- With a Bluetooth adapter and a mobile telephone.
Using your Baha directly with a fixed or mobile telephone
- Hold the telephone receiver close to the Baha sound processor microphone instead of your ear.
- Talk into the telephone as usual.
Using your Baha with a Telecoil and a fixed telephone. (Only for head-worn devices)
- Connect the Baha Telecoil to your sound processor.
- Switch the Telecoil to position T or MT.
- Hold the receiver close to the Telecoil.
Is your phone compatible?
Not all fixed telephones are compatible with Telecoils. Check with the telephone manufacturer to ensure compatibility.
Hearing whistling?
It is important that neither you, nor the phone, touch the sound processor as this may cause feedback (whistling).
Using your Baha with a Bluetooth adapter and a mobile phone
You can choose from several Bluetooth solutions that will give you wireless connection between your Baha and a mobile phone.
You should test the Bluetooth products thoroughly with your Baha and mobile phone before purchasing, as sound quality is dependent on mobile phone type, the bluetooth adapter you choose, as well as the environment.
How to use the Bluetooth adapter with the Telecoil:
- Connect the Baha Telecoil to your sound processor.
- Switch the Telecoil to position T or MT.
- Follow the instructions for the Bluetooth adapter. Most Bluetooth adapters must be used with a neck loop.
- The Bluetooth adapter will now transmit the signal from the telephone to the Baha, via the Telecoil.
