Conductive hearing loss
A person may suffer from conductive hearing loss if there's a problem with their outer or middle ear. This means that sound can't travel or 'conduct' from their outer ear to their inner ear.
The problem with hearing aids
Conventional hearing aids make sounds louder. If you have conductive hearing loss, just increasing sound may not provide real hearing benefits. It's like turning your stereo up too loud; the higher the volume, the more distorted and uncomfortable the sound becomes.
The Baha advantage
Rather than using power to force sound through the damaged area, Baha re-directs the sound through your skull bone to your inner ear, bypassing the blockage. This helps to avoid distortion and feedback, as well as creating very clear, clean sound.
