Freedom Implant Features

Implant without magnet

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) safe

Nucleus Freedom is safe for MRI scans up to 1.5 Tesla without the need to remove the magnet, and up to 3 Tesla with the magnet temporarily removed.

Nucleus Freedom Implant

Small size

The remarkably small size of the implant is suited to infants and adults. It's designed to enable short surgery and fast recovery. The silicone enclosure allows the implant to bend, fitting snugly and securely.

Contour Advance

Self-curling electrode

1. Sound clarity through 22 channels
The unique 22-channel electrode is designed to deliver a finer representation of sound when stimulating the hearing nerves, which is important for optimising sound clarity.

2. Softip—to protect and preserve
The industry’s only Softip electrode is designed to protect the delicate cochlear structures during surgery, which may lead to the preservation of residual hearing.

3. Thin, self-curling array
The array is designed to place the electrodes close to the hearing nerve—for focused stimulation and increased power efficiency—while applying less pressure to the delicate cochlear structures.

4. Free-fitting tapered array
The array is designed to leave generous space in the cochlear during insertion of the array.
